History of the school is as bright as its current reputation. The school was founded in 1963 and since then it has been working as a nursery of character building and repository of learning. The current number of students at the Divisional Public School is 3200 approximately. The school has been divided into following three sections keeping in view the age groups of the male and female students.
DPS offers to all students a tremendous range of activities beyond the classroom. Along with the traditional academic and sporting curriculum, students take lesson in art, 1. T. Communication skills, current affairs, social and cultural development. All students are encouraged by their tutors to join the clubs and societies and specialize in any activity that particularly interests them. These societies / clubs meet at lunchtime or after school. These societies provide an opportunity to the student to actualize their potentional resultantly using them in various fields like Drama, Musical Events, Sports, Pakistan studies, debating, Computing, Swimming, Athletics and various other subject based activities.
At DPS the teaching faculty is much committed to pupils in their charge and all work closely together to establish the strength of girl students, to sharpen their talents, and to create in them interest to achieve their high goals. With a fair class size, the school provides much needed attention to every individual at this budding stage. Broad and varied programmes of physical education, fine arts, and other activities are offered keeping in view the individual's interest and aptitude along with programs of physical education, fine arts, and other activities.
